Francuska je bila jedno od najvećih žarišta korona virusa u Evropi, zajedno s Italijom i Španijom. Restriktivne mere su na snazi nedeljama, a tek od skoro je počelo njihovo ublažavanje.
Ljudi su bili osuđeni na karantin, hranu su spremali kod kuće, a mogli su da izlaze napolje samo uz dobar razlog, ili do prodavnice jednom dnevno. Ukratko, u trenu je sve stalo.
Pariz, jedan od najposećenijih gradova na svetu, pretvorio se u Grad duhova. Puste ulice, zatvoreni restorani i barovi, a slavni kuvari, kao i mnogi drugi, nisu "odoleli" krizi.
Jedan od najpoznatijih ne samo francuskih, već i svetskih kuvara - Gi Savoj, ima čak tri Mišelinove zvezdice, i mada je nedavno ponovo otvorio vrata jednog od svoja četiri restorana u Parizu (Le Chiberta), i dalje sprema specijalitete "za poneti".
Iako je Vlada Francuske ublažila zabrane, ljudi su i dalje skeptični da odlaze u restorane, a dopada im se ideja da obrok vrhunskog kulinarskog majstora dobiju na kućnu adresu. Ipak, cena nije mala.

(His fifth, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, is also closed). Until then, he's venturing with optimism into the takeout business. "We chefs and restaurateurs have had to sit by completely helpless as our activities were put in an artificial coma, even though they're in perfect health," he says. "The restaurant is one of the symbols of French art de vivre," he says. "It's what we live for and why tourists come to France. From the little bistro to the outdoor cafe, the gastronomic restaurant is where we go to meet friends and be with family and to fête special occasions. I have faith that all of this will come back as soon as this virus disappears." Na suženom meniju su tri pojednostavljena obroka, u odnosu na to kako se služe u lokalu, a koštaju 55 evra. "Le Chiberta" dnevno isporuči oko 35 obroka, i kako su naveli, "nastaviće sa dostavom i ubuduće, kako bi nadomestili manji broj gostiju uzrokovan poštovanjem socijalne distance".
